Kierstin Director / Recorders / Celtic Harp / Lute / Vocals Kierstin, founder and musical director of Dorian Mirth (formerly Vis Sit Tecum Musicorum), started piano lessons at age 4. She began playing the organ at age 8 and won many state organ competitions over the next 10 years. After studying at Utah State University, she received a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance. Her studies took her to the University of Notre Dame where she was an assistant organist at the Basilica on campus and sang in the Schola select and Liturgical choirs. Becoming fascinated with medieval and Renaissance music, she began to play the recorder and the harp. After returning to Utah, she held an organist position with a Presbyterian church. Aside from music, Kierstin enjoys reading, watching movies, camping, eating Indian food, and spending time with her husband. |

Melonie Marketing / Costumer / Recorders / Zither / Percussion / Vocals Melonie grew up in a very musical home and remembers plunking out the melodies of tunes she heard on the radio on her grandparent's slightly out-of-tune piano. She started taking piano lessons when she was 10 years old. When she was 15, she turned her attentions from the piano and switched to vocal lessons, which she attended faithfully until she started college. When Kierstin and Rachel approached her with the idea of Dorian Mirth, she couldn't have been more pleased. Melonie spends most of her time using her costume design major at The Utah Opera Company where she works in the costume department and does a little bit of everything including: sewing, millinery, running wardrobe, and laundry. Apart from music and costuming, Melonie enjoys a myriad of things, especially traveling, reading, writing, watching movies and eating curry. |
